Friends of PAPA
Peninsula Area Public Access maintains a close working relationship with the Port Angeles School District. Providing an outlet for several student media programs within the district – including the Cinema & Television Production Class at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, Rider News at Port Angeles High School and the Stevens Middle School Broadcast Class. District Superintendent, Dr. Marc Jackson, elected Jody Potter, Director of NOPSC, to serve on the public access board as a district representative.
Dr. Luke Robins, President of Peninsula College has pledged his support of Peninsula Area Public Access and has elected Dr. Sharon Buck to represent the college on PAPA’s board of directors. As Vice President of instruction at Peninsula College, Dr. Buck has already been a tremendous resource to the board.
In addition to the resolution passed by Port Angeles City Council supporting PAPA as the community’s provider of public access television, the council holds an ex-officio seat on our Board of Directors. Currently the Port Angeles Director of Public Works, Craig Fulton is a key board member and represents city in business matters.
Clallam County Board of Commissioners have presented Peninsula Area Public Access support funding to assist with the distribution of local media within Clallam County. They have recognized the importance of communication and how PAPA can serve the region as a hub of information for government presentations to local viewers.
